    Cortactin antibody

Antibodies that detect cortactin can be used in several scientific applications, including western blot, immunohistochemistry (paraffin), immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry, and immunoprecipitation. These antibodies target cortactin in human, mouse, rat, non-human primate and bovine samples.

Our Cortactin polyclonal, monoclonal and recombinant monoclonal antibodies are developed in rabbits, mice and goats. These antibodies were checked by Knockout, Cell treatment and Knockdown to confirm specificity to Cortactin. Find the Cortactin antibody that fits your needs.

Choose from 1 of 25 Cortactin antibodies, which have been validated in experiments with 16 publications and 72 images featured in our data gallery.

Browse primary antibodies for WB, Flow, IHC, ICC/IF, ELISA, IP and other applications. Antibodies with advanced verification data have been validated for specificity to ensure that the antibody binds to the indicated antigen. If you can't find the antibody you're looking for, contact us today to develop custom antibodies for specific targets, species and applications.

    Target information

Cortactin (Cttn) is a ubiquitous actin-binding protein that was originally identified as a substrate for Src. It contributes to the organization of the actin cytoskeleton and cell shape. Cortactin also plays a role in lamellipodia formation and cell migration.

It accumulates in actin-enriched peripheral cellular structures, suggesting that cortactin facilitates actin network formation. Cortactin has four main domains of interest, the N-terminal acidic (NTA) and tandem repeat domains and the C-terminal proline- and SH3-rich domains.

NTA associates with Arp2/3 complex and WASP in F-actin branches. Cortactin is implicated in promoting cellular motility and invasion, including a critical role in invadopodia, the actin-rich subcellular protrusions associated with ECM breakdown by cancer cells. Cortactin is phosphorylated by src family kinases at Y421, Y466 and Y482 and S405 and S418 which are phosphorylated by Erk family kinases.
